When he was a teenager, Ste developed an interest in CB radio. I think it mainly came from the films Convoy and Smokey & The Bandit playing endlessly on TV. He (handle: Yorkshire Pud) and Ian set up a rig in their bedroom and a huge antenna was attached to the back of the house. Because the antenna was at the back of the house, it wasn't visible to the irate truck drivers that occasionally drove past to find the source of Ste's endless wind-ups over the airwaves, and so mam never found out what he was up to.

In 2018, he rekindled his love of the airwaves, and brought to it his technical skill and curiosity. He was fascinated with SDR (Software Defined Radio), joined several radio clubs in the North-West, and studied for his certification in his spare time, making some very close friends in the process. He loved to share everything that he found fascinating and, as a result, I know more about modern radio telecoms than ever I thought I would. However you knew him .... Yorkshire Pud, M6PPF or 2E0UZA ... to me he was Ste, my brother.
